Green Energy Lab – Project “Open Data Platform”

The “Open Data Platform” is a central interface in the Green Energy Lab – all results generated in the Green Energy Lab flow together in it. This gives users easy access to comprehensive, relevant data on the energy sector.

The project aims to deepen knowledge about interrelationships in energy systems. In the future, users from households and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular will be able to benefit from this. End-user data provides information about consumption-intensive applications and enables a better overview and understanding of energy costs. The analysis of consumption patterns and load flows of users is also the basis for the development of forecasting models. This is an important step to be able to respond to the flexible needs of the end-users even more in the future.

For this purpose, twingz processes disaggregated end-user data to develop consumption patterns, derive forecasting models, and provide recommendations for different actors along the energy supply chain.
The result of the disaggregation is the identification of the most electricity-consuming appliances in the household. In a later phase of the project, the result can also be made available to consumers via apps (e.g. EVN App) and other platforms (e.g. Smart Grid Control subproject market and energy community platform) so that they can understand the energy costs of their household and the impact on the system. Thus, consumers have all the tools in their hands to decide whether to participate in energy markets and system services.
